My Sick Girl

Well, my Wednesday did not go exactly as planned. Poor Rory woke up crying and pretty much didn't stop all day. She was running a fever and threw up over and over and was just completely pitiful. I ended up changing my clothes FIVE times, making an impromptu trip to the doctor and doing nothing but cleaning up vomit and laying on the couch with Rory yesterday. I felt so awful for her because she was so miserable. She finally collapsed against my chest and fell asleep about 7:00 last night and then only woke up once in the night so I'm hopeful that she's doing better.

Our air conditioning still isn't working, but the repair man is coming this morning (I hope). I'm looking forward to cooler air! We definitely lucked out that yesterday wasn't quite as warm as earlier in the week, but the house still stayed at about 79 degrees all day (and night), which is much too warm for me.

No idea what the plan is for today, although I imagine it will include catching up on everything that didn't get done yesterday! Our Esther study is tonight, and I need to try to get caught up on the lessons. Camden has batting practice tonight, but it's supposed to rain so we'll have to see if it's canceled or not.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
