The one-eyed girl

So yesterday turned out to be slightlybusier than planned. We did go to the movie and while the adults snoozed through it, Rory was bored out of her mind, Camden enjoyed it. Basically, give him a moving screen, and he's happy.

Rory's eye continued to get worse, and when she woke up from her nap with the eye completely swollen shut, I called the doctor and they wanted to see her right away. Turns out doctors are concerned when your 2 year old's eye is swollen shut and red for no apparent reason. They put her on an antibiotic, and we're headed back this morning. This is definitely one of those times I wish we didn't live so far from our pediatrician!

My experience today with Rory's eye was different to say the least. On a normal day she gets lots of stares and comments (let's be honest - she's seriously cute and is a socialite; most people can't resist her). It's very common to leave a trail of sighs behind us not to mention those who actually compliment her. Today her face looked quite disfigured and it was strange to get sympathetic looks from adults; twice I heard mothers shushing their children as they pointed and made comments about her eye. By the way, Rory cracks up every time she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

The picture totally doesn't do it justice (this pic is from last night; it's even worse today).
I should take a profile pic - there is a huge lump hanging over her eye.

So on the schedule today is a doctor's appointment for me followed with an appointment for Rory. Sounds like a fun day for the two of us, doesn't it. :) Camden will be staying home with Brian as he works and gets ready for Sunday. Hopefully we'll have time to jump in the backyard pool this afternoon.
