Finally Friday

Things I heard from Rory on the way home from taking Camden to school this week:
  • "What is that noise? It's 'nnoying me." That noise happened to be a piece of classical music.
  • Telling her baby, "I'm going to 'dopt you from Illinois and we'll be a family."
  • "Can we buy a cat and a cow for our back yard?"
  • "If you do not blow dry my hair, you will always, always be my best friend." She's developed a serious aversion to the blow dryer even though we usually reserve the full-service salon services for Sunday. :)
And despite having cried/whined/pouted literally every single day we dropped Camden off to school last year, she's sent him off with a wave and a smile every day this week. Now that's progress!

OH, Rory... I'm so glad your mama is documenting these things for you. And us. :)
And you blow-dry her hair? Wow. Olive would NEVER go for that.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
