Lovely Weekend

Is it wrong to say that our kid-free time was lovely this weekend? Because it was. Just lovely to eat a meal with only adult conversation and run errands without car seats, and to enjoy a quiet Saturday morning without cartoons. And despite the fact that Rory burst into tears the minute we pulled into Gram and Gramps' driveway because she "was gonna be worried" about me, she didn't want to leave Saturday morning so I think it's safe to say she got over that whole worry thing. Camden was kind enough to sleep in the same room with Rory so she wouldn't be scared in Gram and Gramps' new house, although I am certain that he was the one who needed a little bit of company.

After the kids arrived home Saturday, Camden spent the rest of the day playing with one single Silly Bandz. Seriously. One Silly Bandz. There is no need to buy this kid toys! Rory slept the afternoon away and we settled in for our regular Saturday night tradition: pizza and a movie.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
